If you need to display the process pressure locally and at the same time want to send the signal to a central controller or remote control room, you can use the model PGT43 intelliGAUGE (US Patent No. 8,030,990). The combination of a high-quality mechanical measuring system and an accurate electrical signal processing system ensures that the process pressure is known reliably, even in the event of a power failure.
intelliGAUGE's model PGT43 meets the essential requirements of relevant standards and regulations regarding safety as field indicators for pressure vessel operating pressures. The mechanical pointer allows you to read pressure values even in such situations. Model PGT43 is based on the Model 43x.30 high quality stainless steel safety pressure gauge with a nominal size of 100. Pressure gauges are manufactured in accordance with EN837-3.
A durable diaphragm measuring system allows the pointer to rotate proportionally to pressure. An electrical angle encoder, proven in safety-critical automotive applications, determines the position of the pointer axis. Since this is a non-contact sensor, there is no need to worry about wear or friction. This electrical signal is proportional to pressure and can produce a 4...20mA output.
The electronic WIKA transmitter combines the advantages of an electrical signal transmitter with the advantages of an analogue display for on-site confirmation in a high-quality mechanical pressure gauge. The measurement span (electrical output signal) is automatically set on the mechanical display and the range is shown as corresponding to 4...20mA. Electrical zero point is also set automatically.
