With the recent rapid advancement of IT technology, such as the expansion of broadband Internet and the widespread use of 10 Gbit optical communication technology, there is an explosive growth in the number of devices that handle signals with a fundamental frequency of 5 GHz or higher. Correspondingly, with regard to the development of high-frequency magnetic materials, there is an extremely high demand for soft magnetic thin films with excellent properties up to around 10 GHz. For example, the value of the imaginary part of magnetic permeability is required for magnetic recording heads and thin film inductors, which exhibit a large change in magnetization in a small magnetic field and have low loss, or for radio wave absorbing materials required to counter electromagnetic environment problems. There is a large demand for magnetic materials. In order to meet the needs of everyone, this product has been completed as a measurement device that can accurately and easily measure the absolute value of complex magnetic permeability, which is essential for development, over a wide band.

■Points of technology development content

・Succeeded in the electrical modeling and manufacturing development of a shielded loop coil that has frequency characteristics exceeding 9 GHz and has the characteristics of a true magnetic sensor that does not pick up electric field error signals. ・Developed an impedance-matched side-open TEM cell cavity as a high-frequency magnetic field generator with little frequency dependence up to ultra-high frequencies. ・The high frequency mode applied to the sample is changed to a traveling wave that does not have frequency limitations. ・Searching for the location of installing a magnetic sensor inside the side-open TEM cell cavity that can cancel error factors caused by high-frequency electric field signals ・Improve the accuracy of high-frequency fixture calibration jigs and consider calibration procedures ・Validity study of permeability calculation formula and simple formula based on all S-parameter measurements ・Measurement noise has been improved by both hardware and software, reducing it by more than an order of magnitude. ・Using a water-cooled solenoid coil, the maximum saturation magnetic field is doubled to 2kOe compared to conventional models, and at the same time, temperature changes in the sample are suppressed because measurements are performed in a water-cooled atmosphere environment.
