About This Product

■Features BS couplings are elastic couplings that use barrel springs (barrel-shaped coil springs) as elements. As for its characteristics, it has excellent buffering properties against impact torque and damping of torsional vibration, and simultaneously performs torque transmission and shaft center adjustment. Additionally, due to the characteristics of the barrel spring, it has a damping effect that other metal spring couplings do not have, making it possible to use it in applications that were considered impossible with conventional couplings. ■Applications ・Steel making machinery ·plant ・Paper making machine ·mixer ・Crusher ・Various pumps ・General industrial machinery in all other fields Features ■Buffering effect Shock torque is buffered by the deformation of the barrel spring. Standard couplings generate an elastic torsion angle, so peak torque is buffered by 60 to 70% compared to fixed couplings such as gear couplings and disc couplings. ■Damping effect Friction between the strands of the barrel spring quickly damps torsional vibrations. Reduces damping time by 40-60% compared to fixed couplings. ■Flexibility With the BS coupling, axial center adjustment (eccentricity, declination angle, and axial direction) can be adjusted with a single coupling. ■Maintainability If you lubricate the BS coupling at the time of installation, you will not need to replace the grease for about a year. A shielded type is recommended when used in areas with a lot of dust, water, or steam. ■Easy centering The reference surface has a flange shape, making centering work easy. ■Easy to disassemble and assemble (BS-UF series) The BS-UF series is divided into an elastic unit and a solid flange, and the elastic unit can be easily removed. ■Axis adjustment effect of BS coupling BS couplings are flexible couplings that allow complete axis adjustment. By incorporating a barrel spring, in addition to the elastic action in the direction of rotation, there is also an elastic action in the direction perpendicular to the spring axis, so all axial center adjustments (eccentricity/declination/axial direction) are possible. Furthermore, axial vibrations during coupling rotation can be quickly damped by compressing and expanding the barrel spring.
