Resin Flow Analysis Software is used to analyze and visualize the flow of molten resin in a mold or die to predict resin temperature, pressure, speed, flow state, shrinkage, etc. when molding resin in a molding machine. Simulation is used to predict molding defects such as weld, warp deformation, and residual stress, and to analyze the causes of molding defects.
Injection molding analysis includes analysis of molten resin filling, pressure, and cooling in the die, warpage analysis, die cooling analysis, and resin thermosetting reaction analysis.

First, the equations of continuity, motion, and energy are formulated in the local Cartesian coordinate system. Material properties are required, of which viscosity is determined by the experimental equations for shear rate and temperature.
Next, the equations are solved numerically on a computer. Several methods of numerical analysis are used. These include the finite difference method, finite element method, boundary element method, BFM (Branching Flow Method), and FAN (Flow Analysis Network Method). Temperature, pressure, flow rate, velocity, and shrinkage of each part in the die can be elucidated, and simulation results can be visualized and viewed at a glance. Then, by predicting flow patterns, weld, warp deformation, shrinkage, etc., it is possible to prevent molding defects, set gate positions, and select mold temperatures at the design stage.
