Since a new grinding wheel may bite into the material, initially grind by pulling the body and shaving the outer circumference to remove corners. Once rounded, either pushing or pulling can be used.
Safety is paramount when using offset grinding wheels. Ensure the wheel matches the grinder's specifications, use it at or below the maximum operating speed, always attach the grinder's cover, check the wheel's condition, wear protective gear, secure the work area, and firmly fix the workpiece.
