About This Product

The artificial silica sand of this technology is made from waste glass, whose main component is silica, and produced using Millsizer, a unique low-energy, low-cost manufacturing technology, with a particle size of 5 mm or less, edgeless, highly water permeable, and organic-free. It is artificial silica sand that has properties equivalent to naturally derived sand, which has inert properties and does not contain any impurities. Asahi Co., Ltd. is in the process of acquiring the trademark rights to the artificial silica sand produced by this device as silica glass sand. The equipment used to manufacture this technology is a unique technology that utilizes high-speed rotation of a rotor, and is capable of continuously processing glass up to 20 mm thick and efficiently producing granulated sand. Furthermore, the environmental effects of ``regenerating tidal flats and shallow areas'' using sand are generally as follows. ・Particle size: 5mm or less (particle size adjustable) ・Main components: SiO2 (silicon dioxide) 72%, Na2O (sodium oxide) 14%, CaO (calcium oxide) 10%, MgO (magnesium oxide) 2%, Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) 1% ・Other rare ingredients: K2O (potassium oxide), MnO (manganese oxide), SO3 (sulfur oxide), SrO (strontium oxide), TiO2 (titanium oxide) ・Specific gravity: 2.5 tons/m3 ・Color: Colorless (color can be adjusted depending on the type of waste glass used as raw material) ・Applications: Tidal flat/shallow area creation material, sand covering material, auxiliary aggregate for concrete, road paving construction material (shining road), drainage material, hydroponic cultivation, septic tank use, golf course bunker, artificial stone, etc. ・Others: Edgeless, harmless
