■Sustainable silica gel

Silica gel is an extremely stable chemical product with a composition of over 98% silicon dioxide. This silicon is a substance that makes up 60% of the Earth's crust and exists naturally as quartz. The internal structure consists of countless holes (pores), and the surface area of ​​the pores is approximately 450 m2 per gram, equivalent to approximately 300 tatami mats. When the humidity rises, the capillary structure releases surrounding moisture (moisture), and when the humidity falls, it releases the absorbed moisture, working to stably control the humidity in the space. This action will be repeated semi-permanently. It has excellent moisture absorption ability at high humidity, and can absorb up to 70% of its own weight in moisture. <Maximum moisture absorption of 7 liters per 10 kg> It also absorbs ammonia odors well.

When bamboo, which is made up of vertically connected vascular bundles, is turned into charcoal, it becomes a porous structure (honeycomb structure) with numerous vertical holes of various sizes. This feature is used to physically move large amounts of air (gas) and moisture in and out through the holes. It absorbs up to 10% of its own weight in moisture.
