■What Kind of Glue Is "Magigoo", the Glue Made for 3D Printers

One of the causes of print failure that many users of FFF 3D printers have experienced is warping of the model. The generally known method of preventing this warping is to apply glue. The Magigoo series has a lineup that supports not only frequently used general materials such as PLA and ABS, but also engineering plastics such as PA and PP and super engineering plastics such as PEEK and PEI. Applying it to the build plate before printing strengthens the adhesion of the critical first layer and enables stable printing.

■Delivers Strong Adhesion When the Build Plate Is Heated

The Magigoo series has an almost magical characteristic: its adhesive strength changes with the temperature of the build plate. When the plate is heated to 40°C or above, the plate and the model bond strongly, suppressing warping of the first layer, which is extremely important in 3D printing.

■No Force Required. Adhesion Disappears as the Temperature Drops

After printing, once the build plate returns to room temperature, the adhesive strength drops sharply. As a result, the model can be removed easily by hand without using tools such as a scraper. There is no longer any worry about damaging the model or the plate or injuring the operator. Because removal requires no force, anyone can do it.

■Water Alone Is Enough for Cleaning After Printing

Because Magigoo is made up of water-soluble components, the adhesive residue can be removed simply by wiping the applied area with a cloth moistened with water. There is no need to scrape off hardened glue with a scraper or to wipe it away using detergents. Cleaning the build plate, which must be done for every print, becomes easy.
