About This Product

■What is Satsuma Silica?

This satsuma silica is a fine powder of natural shirasu taken from the strata in Kagoshima that is more than 100,000 years old. The main component is silica (a general term for substances composed of silicon dioxide "SiO2", which is a raw material for glass etc.), and when viewed under a microscope it looks like a sharp knife. The key point is the shape of this fine powder, which resembles a sharp knife, and when it adheres to red mites, it scratches the epidermis, evaporates body fluids from there, and causes dehydration and death.This is an external countermeasure. It is a natural material that is not a chemical, has no environmental impact, and has no effect on chickens. *The main ingredients are the same as diatomaceous earth, which is used for its repellent effect. How to use and necessary tools

■ Mix the product and water together and spray. (diluted approximately 4 to 7 times)

The recommended amount to mix with water and use is about 3 to 4 bags per 10,000 birds. It depends on the method of dispersion.

■ Spray directly on areas of concern in the chicken house.

- If you use a power sprayer, the powder may clog the machine and cause it to malfunction. ・Be sure to stir while spraying. ・There is no particular storage method or expiration date.

■Tools required for spraying

・Spreader (dynamic jet OK) *Recommended spreader available ・Agitator ・Bucket of about 100L
