About This Product
KATSURA's high-performance CFRP rollers are used in rollers in all fields, thanks to the know-how we have cultivated as a roller manufacturer and our track record of selling more than 10,000 rollers. By using pitch-based high-performance carbon fiber, we were able to create a roller with higher rigidity, lighter weight, and lower inertia.
■Main features
1. High rigidity
Allows for smaller deflection than iron rollers. A comparison of E = Young's modulus (longitudinal elastic modulus) is as follows.
For iron, E=21,000kgf/mm2. E=7,200kgf/mm2 for aluminum. CFRP is E=8,000~28,000kgf/mm2
2. super lightweight
The specific gravity of iron is 7.8, aluminum is 2.7, and CFRP is 1.56 to 1.75. Approximately half that of aluminum, less than 1/4 that of steel.
3. low inertia
Roller followability to the base material is dramatically improved. The rollers are easy to start and brake, providing good controllability and reducing the load on the product.
The above three characteristics enable the following functions.
1. high speed rotation
Ultra-lightweight + high rigidity = it is possible to raise the critical rotation speed range. It can ensure a safe rotation speed twice that of steel and 1.5 times that of aluminum.
2. Compact design
If you select a CFRP pipe with higher elasticity, the amount of deflection under its own weight can be reduced to 1/3 that of steel, and the amount of deflection under load can be reduced by 30% compared to steel.
3. High precision
High rigidity improves machining accuracy. Furthermore, runout during high-speed rotation is also extremely small.
