About This Product

CAMSIZER X2 is a powerful and versatile particle characterization instrument that combines state-of-the-art camera technology with flexible sample dispersion options. Based on the principle of dynamic image analysis (ISO 13322-2), it determines the accurate particle size and shape of powders, granules and suspensions over a wide measurement range from 0.8μm to 8mm. A stream of particles is generated as a dry powder or suspension, and particle images are continuously captured using a high-intensity strobe light source and two high-resolution digital cameras at a frame rate of 300 images per second. In a short measurement time of 1 to 3 minutes, images of hundreds of thousands to millions of particles can be captured, enabling comprehensive and reliable characterization of samples. It is widely used for everything from quality control to research and development.

■Highly accurate measurement with extremely wide measurement range using dual camera technology

Microtrac's unique dual camera technology is a landmark in dynamic image analysis. By simultaneously measuring with two cameras with different magnifications, high-accuracy measurements over an extremely wide measurement range are achieved without any hardware changes or adjustments. A zoom camera measures fine particles, and a basic camera measures large particles. By optimizing both using a unique algorithm, we obtain the particle size distribution and analyze the shape index. Many image analysis devices that use only one camera are unable to properly detect fine particles in a wide range of particle size distributions due to the performance of the camera used, or are unable to properly image large particles due to their narrow imaging field of view.
