About This Product

Available in electromechanical systems with unlimited continuous rotation, slip rings have the ability to transfer power and data from stationary to rotating objects. Also called rotary electrical interface, collector, swivel, and rotary joint. EC3848 is a slip ring with precious metal brushes and rings. Using flying leads on the rotor and solder terminals on the stator to ensure electrical connection, the EC3848 uses a combination of precision ball bearings and Moog's unique fiber brushes to achieve maximum rotational speeds of 10,000 rpm (without cooling). High speed slip ring. Note that this fiber brush has several advantages over traditional slip ring contacts. Specifically, the brush bundle has multiple contact points, the contact pressure per fiber is reduced, and the contact wear rate is reduced. It also has the advantage of not requiring lubrication and producing almost no wear debris.
