About This Product
A shielded flexible circuit board (shielded FPC circuit board) is a flexible circuit board (FPC circuit board) that has a shield structure for high-speed transmission of high-frequency signals and noise countermeasures. As circuits become faster, noise between signal lines becomes a bigger problem, and some form of shielding becomes necessary. For flexible printed circuit boards (FPC boards), there are several ways to obtain shielding functions while maintaining flexibility.
One is to use the conductor layer on one side of a normal double-sided flexible circuit board (double-sided FPC) as a shield layer. Specifically, one shielding line is inserted between each signal line on the signal side layer, and this is connected to the shielding layer on the back side using a TH (through hole).
Another method is to print silver paste as a shield layer. First, a single-sided flexible circuit board (single-sided FPC) is manufactured, a coverlay is placed over the circuit, a window hole is made in advance at the contact area, and silver paste is applied (printed) on top of this. However, this silver paste printing method sometimes has poor yields during the manufacturing process (such as pinholes), so currently we mainly use shielding film.
Shield films come in various specifications such as silver, and because they are thin films, they have excellent flexibility, flexibility, and bendability.
