About This Product

■NB coat

NB Coat is a one-component silica-based coating material developed for slag pots in converters, electric furnaces, etc. By coating a slag pot with NB Coat, it has excellent effects such as preventing the adhesion of slag and base metal, improving work efficiency and working environment, and extending the life of the pot.

■Characteristics of NB coat

・Form: Slurry (one-component) ・Solid content: 42-46% ・Ingredients: Al2O3 45% or more ・SiO2: 55% or less ・Medium water ・Specific gravity: 1.25-1.35 ・Viscosity: 1.8-2.2 Boise (at20℃) ・PH：9.0～10.0 (at20℃)

■Features of NB coat

- No need to use slag, etc. Therefore, the slag receiving capacity of the pot is increased and the working environment can be significantly improved. - Easily coated with a spray gun and has good adhesion to pots. ・The effect of the coating layer improves the slag removability, improving workability and reducing the number of times pots need to be repaired. ・It is highly effective in preventing corrosion of the pot due to metal in the slag. The metal does not dig into the slag, etc., making it easy to recover the metal. How to use

■Spray method

・Hydraulic spray tank: Normal working pressure 2-6kg/cm3 ・Atomizer spray gun: Discharge rate 1-15kg/min

■How to coat

(1) Stir NB Coat well before use and then pour it into the spray tank. (2) Apply in a spiral pattern from the side of the pot to the bottom. (3) The temperature of the pot before application must be at least 100℃. The coating thickness should be 2 to 3 mm. (A sufficient effect can be obtained with the coating area being about half the height of the pot. Also, the coating amount should be 0.5 kg/㎡.) (4) Please confirm that the coating layer is completely dry before receiving the slag.

■Throwing method

It is useful when you need a local coat or simple application to areas of the slag pan that are heavily damaged. Please make sure that the coating layer is completely dry before receiving the slag.
