About This Product

■Summary ・High-precision measurement using capacitance method, analog voltage output on each side ・Product design with high resemblance to leaves and long-term reliability The leaf surface moisture sensor HD3901 detects water droplets on its sensitive surface and is designed to reproduce the thermodynamic behavior of leaves in an extremely accurate manner. Leaf wetness is fundamental in determining the most appropriate disinfection and disinfection treatments in agriculture and horticulture to avoid mold and fungal infections that can harm plants and crops that commonly have water droplets on their leaves. This is information. The front and back sensitive surfaces of the sensor allow it to detect the degree of wetness on both the front and back sides of the leaf, which is an important feature since the drying times for the front and back sides of the leaf are different. To ensure long-term use of the sensor, the surface of the sensor is specially treated to withstand chemical agents found in the atmosphere and pesticides. The built-in circuitry in a sealed resin housing allows for highly reliable measurements even in high moisture environments. The HD3901 ships after factory calibration and does not require user calibration. The power supply voltage is 5 to 18 V DC, the output is an analog voltage of 0.5 to 3.0 V DC, and the cable length is 5 m or 10 m (specify when ordering). ■Operating principle Two grid-shaped electrodes are placed on the sensing surface of the sensor. The sensor detects the change in dielectric constant between two electrodes caused by the presence of water droplets on the surface. By adopting this principle, the HD3901 is able to detect even minute water droplets, unlike conventional sensors based on resistance or conductivity principles that require a droplet (minimum size) to be measurable between two electrodes. . The materials of construction and the white color of the sensitive surface were chosen to simulate the thermal and radiative properties of a real leaf in the most reliable way possible. Analog voltage output 0.5~3.0V corresponds to humidity level 0~100%. Wetness level (%) indicates how much of the sensor's total area is covered with moisture. By inputting, recording, and monitoring the analog output of the front and back surfaces of leaves into a data logger, changes in leaf wetness can be analyzed and adjusted.
