About This Product

■Summary This is a device that can generate a cooled atomic beam in an ultra-high vacuum device using a funnel-shaped optical near field. It consists of two vacuum chambers, a near-field optical funnel section and a measurement section, and uses differential pumping to create an ultra-high vacuum state. In the upper near-field optical funnel, a cooled atomic beam is generated by sending the laser-cooled and trapped ultra-cold gas atomic population into a funnel-shaped optical near-field region induced on the inner wall surface of a hollow prism. The generated cooled atomic beam is transported to a higher vacuum measurement section at the bottom where it can be measured and evaluated. ■Features ・Near-field optical funnel mechanism can be operated by using a hollow prism for near-field optical excitation. ・Double magneto-optical trap can be installed by using circularly polarized laser light and anti-Helmholtz coil ・Ultra-high vacuum state can be achieved by differential pumping with a two-chamber configuration of the funnel section and measurement section and baking treatment at 200℃. ・Baking at 200℃ is possible by using a heater. ・Atoms can be measured using the time-of-flight method using a weak light detector such as a high-sensitivity CCD camera. ・Equipped with multiple viewing ports for magneto-optical traps and atomic measurements ・Specification of funnel prisms of various shapes is possible because the atom transport tube can be manufactured as an option. ■Proximity sunlight funnel part Equipped with a viewing port to introduce a total of 6 circularly polarized laser beams from the positive and negative directions of 3 axes. One of the three axes can be laser cooled and a pair of anti-Helmholtz coils for trapping can be installed. Equipped with a mechanism to hold a funnel-shaped hollow prism for optical near-field excitation inside a vacuum, a laser beam can be introduced and irradiated from the viewing port at the bottom of the device, and a group of cooled atoms is generated inside the hollow prism. It is configured to allow ■Atom transport tube The generated cooled atomic beam is transported to the lower measurement section. The conductance is designed to be small so that the near-field optical funnel part that generates the cooled atomic beam and the lower measurement part are differentially pumped, and various shapes and materials are available as options. ■Measurement part The cooled atomic beam generated in a higher vacuum than the near-field optical funnel is laser-cooled and trapped again. The configuration allows for spectroscopic measurements of trapped ultracold atomic populations. It is also designed to be used in conjunction with the time-of-flight method.
