About This Product

■Summary This chamber is a device that can generate and trap neutral atomic gas cooled to ultra-low temperatures in an ultra-high vacuum. It has two vacuum chambers that can form an upper and lower magneto-optical trap (MOT), and uses differential pumping to create an ultra-high vacuum state in the lower vacuum chamber. First, atoms are supplied in the upper vacuum chamber to form an MOT, and laser cooling is performed to generate an ultra-cold atomic population. Next, the generated atomic population is sent to the lower vacuum chamber without background atoms, and an MOT is configured to trap it again. In this way, an ultra-cold atomic population is generated in a clean ultra-high vacuum environment. The generated cold atoms can be widely used in research such as atomic optics, quantum optics, and quantum information. Additionally, with optional configurations, it can be used for cold atomic beam formation, spin polarization, and deflection/diffraction experiments using evanescent light.
