About This Product
CNR CeNtRa Science is a Taiwanese lightning protection component manufacturer founded in 1992. Our main products include surge absorbers (varistors), surge protectors (SPD), NTC thermistors, and gas discharge tubes. With the latest safety regulations of UL, CSA, VDE, CQC and other countries and EU environmental regulations. At the same time, we have obtained ISO9001 and IATF16949 certification.
We have the production capacity of surge absorber: 70KK/month, surge protector: 500K/month, thermistor: 30KK/month. CNR products are also used by major Japanese companies such as Sharp and Panasonic.

■Surge absorber (barista)
A varistor (English: varistor or voltage dependent resistor, abbreviated VDR), also called a varistor or a surge absorber, is an electronic component with the important properties of a non-ohmic conductor. The resistance value changes with the external voltage, so its current-voltage characteristic curve has a large nonlinearity.
Varistors are widely used in electronic circuits to protect circuits from damage caused by transient voltage surges in power systems. At high voltages, the varistor's resistance decreases, shunting the current and protecting sensitive electronic components.
■Surge protector (SPD)
A surge protector (or surge suppressor) is a device designed to protect electrical equipment from voltage spikes. Surge protection attempts to limit the voltage supplied to electrical equipment by a barrier or by shorting unwanted voltages above a safe threshold to ground.
Used to describe electrical equipment commonly installed in switchboards, process control systems, communication systems, and other heavy industrial systems to protect against surges and spikes, including those caused by lightning. Miniature versions of these devices may be installed on electrical panels at residential entrances and exits to protect residential equipment from similar hazards.
