Dufftail means "dovetail groove" in Japanese, and by machining the workpiece with a 45° dovetail groove for positioning in advance, it is possible to clamp workpieces larger than the vise dimensions. It is also a jig that can perform not only 5-sided machining but also 6-sided machining including undercuts.
Once the workpiece has been pre-processed, all that is left to do is to secure the workpiece to the dufftail jig and tighten the screws. The pedestal has a slope, so you can tilt the table and process the tool with a short projection. Six-sided machining is possible with one chucking with high precision. If you use this dufftail jig, you can, for example, process 12 small workpieces at once.
■No need to position each time
Pre-machining dimensions are set for each dufftail jig. If this process is performed, there will be no need to position the workpiece when fixing it to a jig. Ideal for producing many identical workpieces. It also has a positioning pin, which has a pokayoke effect that prevents you from loading the workpiece in the wrong direction.
■6 sides can be processed
The daft tail jig can grip a larger workpiece than the jig itself. It is mounted on an inclined pedestal, and you can easily access the bottom (6 sides) by tilting the machine table.
