■Overview and features
The Omni Automotive Parts Delivery System combines Omni Lifters and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to reduce the need for manned forklifts and keep the three-story distribution center running smoothly.
Automotive parts that are received and shipped range from large sheet metal parts (maximum load 1,000 kg/piece, minimum 500 kg/piece) to medium and small parts, but those that are shipped frequently and those that are shipped infrequently are categorized by floor. All storage, receiving and shipping instructions are controlled by computer, ensuring a highly reliable flow of goods within the center.
■Transportation of large parts
On the 1st floor, automated guided vehicles automatically transport vehicles to stations in each area. On the 3rd floor, omni-lifters and automatic guided vehicles work together to automatically transport items to stations in each area.
