■What is VABS thread rolling head?
This brand is suitable for thread processing of larger sizes than ARC and for rolling heads installed as special machine attachments.
■Features of VABS thread rolling head
Since it can be installed and used on a CNC lathe, the cutting process and rolling process can be integrated into one CNC lathe.
■Materials that can be rolled
Rolling is performed using elastic and plastic forces. When you check the properties of a material using a mill sheet, etc., you will find an item called ``elongation rate'', which corresponds to elasticity.
"Tension" is caused by ease of plasticity. The guideline is for materials with an elongation rate of 5% or more and a maximum tension of 1,700N/mm2. Materials that satisfy the above guidelines and have an HRC hardness of 20 or less are easy to roll and are therefore suitable for rolling. On the other hand, if HRC exceeds 30, rolling with a thread rolling head becomes extremely difficult.
In Japan, there are examples of its use in materials such as S25C, S45C, SS400, aluminum, brass, SUS303, SUS304, and SUS316.
