About This Product

Vermeer tab grinder. The lineup includes two models: the self-propelled 402kW (547PS) TG540TX and the towed 402kW (547PS) TG5000. The drive system for both models is engine direct drive, so the duplex drum, which is the crushing drum, also rotates at a high speed of approximately 2,250 rpm. The fine, uniform chips produced by its high-speed rotation are suitable as raw materials for mulching materials, compost, biomass fuel, etc., and have been well received for many years.

■Secret of high production volume: duplex drum

The Duplex Drum is a U.S. patented crushing drum with diagonally arranged bits. Bits bite diagonally into the material, improving crushing ability while reducing the number of bits to reduce running costs. Since the hammer bar (bit mounting base) is also replaceable, the replacement and repair time when it wears out can be shortened compared to the build-up repair type, and the structure prevents the drum from becoming unbalanced and causing vibration after replacement. It has become.

■High quality chips

The duplex drum is driven by an engine direct drive, so the duplex drum rotates at a high speed of approximately 2,250 rpm. The drum rotates at twice the speed of a side-feeding crusher, which has a drum rotation speed of around 1,000 rpm, so it beats twice as much material in the same amount of time. This allows us to produce fine, uniform, high-quality chips.

■Tab cover that suppresses scattering and increases crushing efficiency

The tub cover at the top of the tub greatly reduces the scattering of crushed materials and contributes to ensuring safety. After the crushed material comes into contact with the tub cover, it is fed again towards the duplex drum, allowing for highly efficient crushing. The outer diameter of the upper end of the tub is large at 2,800 mm for self-propelled models and 3,700 mm for towed models, allowing for smooth material input even when the tub cover is closed.

■Advanced tab control

Tab control uses auto-reverse mode. Auto-reverse mode is a method that reverses the tabs to release the load when the engine speed drops below a set value during high load. By controlling the load on the engine, material can be fed to the duplex drum at the optimal timing, allowing for efficient crushing work.
