About This Product

Internal pressure explosion-proof operation panels meet customer needs with a variety of technologies, including ventilation type and enclosed type according to Japanese standards, and Z-purge type according to overseas standards (NFPA-496).

■Notes

Explosion-proof properties are achieved by combining protective gas supply equipment, protection devices, and pressure switches. Mere air purge does not provide explosion protection.

■What is internal pressure explosion-proof structure?

Protective gas is pressurized into the container to maintain internal pressure and prevent the intrusion of explosive gas from outside so that electrical equipment stored in the container will not become an ignition source even if used in an explosive atmosphere. It's a method. Electrical equipment with an internal pressure explosion-proof structure can be made explosion-proof by providing clean air or inert gas (protective gas) supply equipment and an internal pressure explosion-proof protection device.

■Classification of internal pressure explosion-proof structure

Internal pressure explosion-proof construction is classified by the method of maintaining internal pressure by pressurizing protective gas into the container.

■ Ventilated internal pressure explosion-proof structure

A ventilated internal pressure explosion-proof structure has an air supply port and an exhaust port in the equipment container, and prevents explosive gas from entering the container due to the pressure difference between the inside of the container and the atmosphere outside the container caused by external ventilation. ■Enclosed internal pressure explosion-proof structure

Enclosed internal pressure explosion-proof structure is a structure in which the device container itself is completely closed, and if the amount of leakage is minute, protective gas is continuously or intermittently replenished from the outside to make it explosion-proof. This method obtains the internal pressure necessary for maintenance, and does not use an exhaust port during normal operation. Note that cooling of equipment using this method does not depend on the supply of protective gas. Additionally, if using an exhaust port makes scavenging more reliable, it may be possible to provide an exhaust port that is used only for scavenging before startup. *In addition, sealed internal pressure explosion-proof structures are also available.

■Container structure

Containers for electrical equipment with internal pressure explosion-proof construction shall have a completely closed structure except for the protective gas supply/exhaust ports to maintain the specified internal pressure during startup and operation, and shall withstand the pressure of the protective gas during operation. must be.
