About This Product
DF Scanner is a new analysis software that utilizes deep running (AI) to analyze forest information such as tree species, size, and volume from forest data acquired by drones.
Performing a complete analysis of each tree, including CHM calculation, tree apex detection, canopy separation, tree species identification using deep learning, and DBH, wood volume, and carbon storage estimation, from tree canopy images taken with a drone. You can.
When analyzing images taken with a drone using DF Scanner, DSM (digital elevation data) and orthomosaic images are required. We recommend combination with Pix4D's image processing software PIX4Dmatic.
The substrate topographic data uses 5mDEM data from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan. AI analysis accuracy is further improved by using a high-precision DEM created with DF LAT based on a UAV laser.
■Tree apex detection/crown separation
It is possible to detect the top of coniferous trees and separate the crown using height information and image information. The algorithm is based on Local Maximum Filter and Watershed Segmentation. By adjusting multiple parameters such as filter size, it is possible to detect coniferous forests with an accuracy of over 90%.
■Tree species identification
Tree species can be identified using AI (deep learning) based on drone image information. In addition to automatic identification of some Japanese coniferous and broad-leaved trees, it also supports learning and identification using original classes by users.
■Estimation of tree height, thickness (diameter at breast height), and trunk volume
It is possible to estimate the tree height, thickness (diameter at breast height), and trunk volume. Breast height diameter estimation is calculated from tree species, crown (polygon) size, and tree height information. Trunk volume is estimated based on tree species, tree height, diameter at breast height, and region. It is also possible to customize size estimation using a proprietary formula using data measured on site.
■Understanding the forest status of tree species, number, average size, and total volume of trees in the specified range
You can view the tree species, number, average size, total volume, etc. of the selected range. It also supports loading shape files of target areas, making it easy to understand forest information in a specific area.
