This instrument is a digital absorption photometer series that bridges the gap between ``visual inspection based on color'' and ``expensive digital measuring instruments,'' and measures total hardness (water hardness). Total hardness is the amount of calcium and magnesium in water converted to their equivalent calcium carbonate (CaCO3).
The biggest feature of this device is that it is palm-sized and inexpensive, even though it has a digital display. Easy operation with one button makes it safe even for first-time users.
