Without flexible tools, normal process variations can result in incorrect items during inspection. Cognex Flexible Flaw Inspection (FFD) provides precision edge and surface inspection for lens and perspective distortion, scale changes, print misalignment, line scan image stretching, and more.
FFD is an ideal tool for inspecting shape conformance and surface defects such as dirt and scratches. FFD is used for print inspection, such as defect inspection of screen printed logos. Flexible flaw inspection is suitable for edge- or plane-based feature inspection.
To detect edges and boundaries under error-prone conditions, FFD compares edges in the registered model to edges in the runtime image to check for extra edges or chips. FFD works with both color and grayscale applications, providing the flexibility to balance accuracy and speed, and even ignore runtime imperfections.
