■SummaryThe XFS series is an elliptical gear type positive displacement flowmeter that is easy to handle, compact, lightweight, highly accurate, and compatible with a wide variety of liquids. It is widely used as a meter.

■Compatibility with various liquidsSince it is a positive displacement flow meter that is compatible with many types of liquids, the viscosity of the liquid has little effect on accuracy and is compatible with many types of liquids.

■High precision/high resolutionSince special oval gears are used, there is little pressure loss and it is possible to measure with high precision from minute flow ranges to large flow ranges. The measurement range is wide and the resolution is high due to the use of optical sensors.

■Backflow correction functionForward and reverse flow pulse detection circuits allow accurate net flow measurement even in flow paths where reverse flow occurs. (XFS-1205, 2205, and 1234 are equipped with backflow correction function)

■Operating principle of flowmeter (optical type)When fluid flows in from the direction of the arrow, a pressure difference (P1-P2) occurs between the inflow and discharge sides, and this pressure is applied to gears A and B, causing the gears to rotate and discharge a fixed amount in one revolution.
The pressure of the fluid passing through the measuring chamber causes the gear and the reflector plate press-fitted to the end of the gear to rotate in synchronization. The reflected light irradiated on the reflector plate is converted into voltage pulses in the rotation detection section, inputted to the counter, and various signals are output as required.

■Optical typeGear rotation is detected by a rotation sensor consisting of an optical sensor and a reflector. Due to its high resolution, it is possible to perform highly accurate measurements at minute flow rates (for example, measuring engine fuel consumption).

■Magnetic typeA magnet is embedded in the gear and detected by a Hall IC placed on its rotation trajectory. Effective for measurements that do not require high resolution or for measuring colored fluids with poor light transmission (e.g. ink, mold release agent, paint, etc.).
