About This Product
■Alumina ball
It is chemically stable, has high thermal conductivity, electrical insulation, and a good balance of mechanical strength at room temperature, making it a basic material among fine ceramics.
■Zirconia ball
Compared to other ceramics, zirconia has a higher melting point of 2,700℃, and has excellent thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. It has high mechanical strength and excellent piezoelectricity, dielectricity, and ionic conductivity.
■Nitrogen silicon ball
It has excellent thermal shock resistance, high temperature strength, abrasion resistance, and impact resistance, making it the most well-balanced material among fine ceramics, and is also used in clean areas.
■What is carbide (tungsten carbide)?
It is a mixture of 94% tungsten and 6% cobalt that is baked and hardened. (For diameters of 10 mm or more, 92% tungsten and 8% cobalt) *Tungsten carbide balls containing nickel can also be manufactured.
Most of them are formed by compressing powder. It is one of the raw materials for cemented carbide.
■Standards
・Diameter: 0.13mm to 20mm
・Grade: 10-1,000
■Characteristics of carbide (tungsten carbide) and carbide balls (sphere)
1. Hard. Mohs hardness is "9". Because diamond has a number of 10, it is said to be the second hardest material after diamond.
2. Has strong heat resistance.
3. High melting point. It has the highest melting point of all metals.
4. It has a low expansion rate and has the highest strength among metals at high temperatures (1650℃ or higher).
5. High abrasion resistance.
6. Strong oxidation resistance.
7. Excellent durability. Long lifespan.
8. Strong against compressive force. High density.
9. High tensile strength.
10. It has a heavy specific gravity and is fragile to impact. It cracks more easily (lower toughness) than tool steels such as high-speed steel.
11. High cost.
■General uses of carbide (tungsten carbide)
Cutting tools, wear-resistant tools, molds, inspection jigs, check valves, ball raising, bearings, cages, accessories, fishing weights, radiation shielding instead of lead, golf club weights, ball screws, valves, Used for contact type measurement terminals, etc.
