About This Product

Thread inserts, also known as wire inserts and threaded bushings, are a solution for creating strong threads in soft materials such as light metals and plastics. A cylindrical metal screw that is inserted into a pilot hole to create accurate, strong, and wear-resistant internal threads in workpieces made of light metals, plastics, and other low shear strength materials. Damaged internal threads can be easily and inexpensively repaired using thread inserts.

■Advantages of threaded inserts

- Soft materials provide greater clamping force, higher strength, and better sealing. - Enables the use of high tensile strength fasteners. - Improves vibration resistance during assembly. - Forms high-quality, durable, and wear-resistant threads. ・Protects expensive castings and molded products. - Reduces performance degradation due to plastic creep. - Reduces molding cycle risks. -Easy to install into drilled or formed holes, suitable for automatic installation.

■Applications of threaded inserts

Used for attaching screws and bolts to soft materials. Directly screwing a screw or bolt into a soft material may damage the base material, so after setting the thread insert, insert the screw or bolt into the thread insert. You can repair screw holes that have come loose due to insertion of a screw that does not match the screw hole diameter, distorted installation, over-tightening of screws, or collapse of the screw hole due to rust or corrosion. It can also be used when the thin base material cannot support the full length of the screw or bolt. Even if the threaded insert protrudes from the bottom edge of the workpiece, the screw or bolt can be driven deep into the threaded insert. *Other model numbers are available.
