About This Product

The SHINE technology underlying the Absolute Scanner AS1 is leveraged on a larger scale in the Absolute Scanner AS1-XL. The AS1-XL represents a breakthrough in handheld non-contact measurement for large workpiece measurements, including an ultra-wide scan line, extended standoff, and 10x faster measurement speed than Hexagon's previous generation XL 3D laser scanner. With SHINE technology, the AS1-XL provides clean, data-rich scanning of any measurement surface, from glossy black plastic to molded carbon fiber. All this data is available on the same module platform as AS1. This allows hot-swapping between the laser tracker and portable measurement arm reference without any warm-up, depending on application needs. Additionally, when using the AS1 and AS1-XL together, you can easily change the scanner to the AS1-XL for fine feature measurements with the AS1, and then inspect larger surfaces with the AS1-XL in the same measurement session. ■SHINE Innovation

Our Systematic Intelligent Noise Removal Technology (SHINE Technology) is at the core of the AS1-XL's high scanning performance. It can collect cleaner, higher-quality data at higher speeds even on surfaces with difficult shapes or glossy finishes, and can also be used as a dedicated machine for scanning large areas.

■Broader data

The AS1 has an ultra-wide scan line of 600mm in mid-range, allowing you to easily scan large surfaces. The AS1-XL is an essential data collection tool for large-scale inspection applications that are becoming common throughout the manufacturing sector.

■Standoff and scan

The AS1-XL's long standoff distance of up to 1m (700mm in mid-range) makes it easy to sweep large surfaces and can be used for high-level measurements without scaffolding, while also allowing visibility inside cavities. , perfect for measuring hidden areas.

■Position accuracy

The performance of the AS1-XL is based on the installed Absolute Positioner AP21 unit. The AP21 is equipped with a high-precision reflector, allowing the AT960 to accurately track up to 30m. In addition, LEDs are placed on each side, and the AT960's mini vario zoom camera calculates the scanner's orientation with high precision.

■Improved portability

One Ethernet data cable is sufficient to connect the tracker to the scanner. This connection is made via the compact and lightweight Connect Box and AAT controller. Both are designed to clip onto a standard tracker stand. The system can be powered by an AC power cable or a hot-swappable battery that can scan continuously for up to 9 hours.

■Large-scale automation

AS1-XL was developed as a next-generation sensor that supports measurement-based automation. The large standoff distance makes it ideal for larger-scale inspections in the aerospace industry, and is particularly useful for programming robot inspection paths to ensure costly collisions are avoided.
