About This Product

■Accurate measurement of fiber composite materials

The LI66 is a strain gauge designed to be used directly embedded in structures during the fiber composite manufacturing process.

■LI66: Strain gauge for embedded applications such as composite materials

In recent years, the use of fiber composite materials has increased, but the use of accurate information on load conditions is a prerequisite for systematically optimizing these components. Incorporating sensors is often the only way to meet the various demands related to production management, load monitoring, damage analysis, and control of textile composite materials. The LI66 strain gauge can be embedded directly inside structures during the fiber composite manufacturing process. This allows measurements to be taken in locations that are not accessible after manufacturing.

■Connect to strain gauge after composite material production

The most notable feature of the LI66 strain gauge is the two vertically mounted connecting pins (d=0.6mm) for connecting to the strain gauge embedded in the material. The measurement leads simply connect to gold-plated pins on the outside of the structure, making handling easier. Embedded, strain gauges are bonded to the material by a matrix resin. The advantage of the pin method is that there is no need to embed measurement leads in the fiber composite material.
