About This Product

A ball screw that can perform left/right opening/closing, centering, and precision positioning with a single axis. We have ground ball screws C3 class and C5 class.

■Accuracy grade and axial clearance

There are two accuracy grades for the SD series (precision opening/closing ball screws in stock): C3 and C5 (JIS B 1192-3). We also have axial clearances of 0 (preload: C3) and 0.005mm or less (C5) in stock, depending on the accuracy class.

■Material and surface hardness

The SD series (precision opening/closing ball screw standard stock item) uses SCM415 (carburized and hardened) for both the screw shaft and nut, and the surface hardness of the ball screw part is HRC58 to 62.

■Lubrication

The SD series (precision opening/closing ball screw standard stock item) is coated with anti-rust oil to prevent rust when the terminal is unprocessed. Please note that anti-rust oil does not have a lubrication function, so please supply a separate lubricant when using it. Unless otherwise specified, we recommend KSS original grease (MSG No.2).

■Shaft end shape

The SD series (precision opening/closing ball screw standard stock item) does not have a standardized shaft end shape. Please request additional machining from KSS along with a drawing showing the shape of the shaft end. *Other product numbers are available.
