About This Product

Sona is Andor's latest high-performance sCMOS camera platform specifically designed for fluorescence microscopy. Both the Sona 4.2B-11 and Sona 2.0B-11 are back-illuminated, with a quantum efficiency (QE) of 95% and a vacuum cooling temperature of -45°C, the highest in the industry.

■Features

・95% QE and minimal noise: long-term live cell observation and accurate physiological function measurements - 4.2 megapixel 32mm F-mount (Sona 4.2B-11): Maximum field of view and sensitivity to capture the largest area of cells and large tissue samples. Easily compatible with 60x and 40x objective lenses. It can be combined with a magnifying coupler unit (MCU) to maintain optical clarity on a variety of samples. ・2.0 megapixel 22mm C-mount (Sona 2.0B-11): Ideal for the latest microscopes with C-mount ports up to 22mm. - NEW 4.2 Megapixel C-Mount (Sona 4.2B-6): Ideal for applications that benefit from a smaller pixel size of 6.5µm. The combination of sensitivity, speed, and resolution makes it suitable for 40x and 60x magnification. Low Noise mode uses correlated multisampling to capture uniform, clean images without affecting frame rate. Vacuum cooling to -45°C: If the signal is very weak, the noise level should also be minimized. No need to worry about camera thermal noise. The only vacuum back-illuminated sCMOS: Andor's proprietary UltraVac™ technology protects the sensor from (a) QE degradation and (b) condensation. Glow Suppression Technology: Access the entire 4.2 megapixel array for long exposures, maximizing field of view and sensitivity benefits. ・High-speed imaging: Enables highly dynamic imaging of highly dynamic samples such as cell motility, membrane dynamics, ion flux, and blood flow without signal smearing (Sona 4.2B-11: 48fps, Sona 4.2 B-6: 74fps). ・Extended dynamic range mode: Easily measure difficult samples such as neurons with “one-snap quantification” at maximum signal range (Sona 4.2B-11: 53,000:1, Sona 4.2B-6: 35,000:1) can. >99.7% Linearity: Delivers unparalleled quantitative accuracy over the entire signal range, ensuring measurement confidence in any application where signal strength is indicative of local concentration. User-configurable ROI: Adjustable for various sizes of microscope ports. You can increase frame rate and save data storage space. ・Fan and water cooling included as standard: Water cooling provides maximum sensitivity and supports vibration-sensitive setups used in super-resolution, electrophysiology, etc. - High-speed interface: All Sona models are equipped with USB 3.0 (USB 3.1 Gen 1), providing a convenient high-speed interface. Sona 4.2B-6 uses CoaXPress to achieve the fastest data transfer speeds.
