■Summary

Both the Andor Newton EMCCD spectroscopic detector and the traditional Newton CCD spectroscopic detector system are optimized for high-performance spectroscopic applications. The Newton EMCCD utilizes Andor's pioneering electronically amplified CCD platform with a unique sensor format optimized for ultra-low-light level spectroscopic applications. Andor's ultra-fast, low-noise electronics combine unparalleled -100°C deep cooling and are backed by Andor's Ultravac™ technology, which has a proven track record of unrivaled reliability in scientific and industrial applications. Intelligent crop modes enable wideband detection rates of up to 1,600 spectra per second. It is also the perfect tool for ultra-fast UV, VIS or NIR spectroscopy such as 2D chemical mapping, online process monitoring, non-invasive medical diagnostics (or all of the above using dual AR coating BEX2-DD technology). The Newton 940 series offers 13.5x13.5μm pixels for the best UV to VIS high-resolution spectroscopy, while the 26x26μm 920 series offers the best dynamic range for UV to NIR applications. At over 6.6mm in height, both of these high-performance sensors are ideal for multitrack spectroscopy or hyperspectral imaging.
