■High-speed pressure response piezo actuator Mechatrans MTKK series (Operation direction: Extend)

・The MechaTrans MTKK series is a piezo actuator that is highly rigid and focuses on quick start-up (fast response). - Compared to the MTDD series and MTD series, the piezoelectric element does not move in position when the displacement magnification mechanism operates, so the inertial mass of the piezoelectric element does not interfere with the quick start-up operation. -The MechaTrans MTKK series not only does not involve any movement of the piezoelectric element during displacement expansion operation, but also has a structure that does not impair the features of its flat and thin shape. ・When voltage is applied, this piezo actuator moves in the direction of extension. The main features are as follows.

■Features

・Has high resonant frequency from 1.6 to 6.5kHz. ・Has a high generating force of 20N to 140N. ・The shape is flat and thin, making it suitable for downsizing equipment. ・The direction of displacement generated by the actuator is 90 degrees perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the piezoelectric element. ・Stretches as the applied voltage increases ・Ideal for applications that require particularly fast response speed. ・The direction of displacement is opposite to that of the MTK series.

■Operating principle

・The MechaTrans MTKK series is installed so that a laminated piezoelectric actuator (piezoelectric element) is incorporated into the center of the displacement magnification mechanism, increasing the amount of displacement generated by the piezoelectric element from several times to several tens of times. - A screw hole is provided on the displacement magnification mechanism side for the fixing screw to attach the piezoelectric actuator. ・There is a lead wire on the piezoelectric element side that applies voltage to the piezoelectric element, and when in use, connect it as shown in Figure 1. - In the MechaTrans MTKK series, when voltage is applied to the piezoelectric element, displacement is output in a direction that spreads from the inside to the outside of the actuator. ・Also, the direction of displacement of the actuator is perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the piezoelectric element, and the point of action of the generated displacement and force is at the center of the actuator.

■Precautions when handling

・There is hysteresis ・Avoid DC application + humidity environment ・Do not apply pulling force or push the arm too hard. ・Be careful when applying direct voltage. ・The tip of the mechatrans will fluctuate due to temperature changes. ・Voltage polarity is single *Other model numbers are available.
