About This Product

The FT-2500 Advanced Tachometer is a revolution meter that measures rotational speed from noise, vibration, and changes in magnetic flux generated by motors and other rotating machines. By using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) in its calculation section, it can extract frequency components corresponding to rotational speed even from complex waveform signals from microphones, sound level meters, and vibration sensors, and then calculate and display the rotational speed. Equipped with a new algorithm, the FT-2500 can accurately measure not only the steady rotation of motors and engines, but also acceleration and deceleration of rotation.

■Features

- No sensor installation or reflective marking required - Easily measure rotation from sound or vibration - no machining required on the rotating shaft - Equipped with a tracking measurement algorithm that can handle rotational speed changes and acceleration/deceleration - Rotation direction detection function (when using the FT-0501 DC motor rotation detector) - In addition to analog rotation speed output, a pulse output function corresponding to the rotation speed has been added - RS-232C communication function is included as standard Applications (Examples of Measurement Applications)

■ Rotational Speed Measurement of Small Rotating Motor Shafts

This allows you to easily measure the rotational speed of rotating motors and other rotating shafts without reflective marks. For example, it is possible to measure small rotating shafts where reflective marks are difficult to attach, or fan motors where the reflected light does not return directly.

■ Rotational Direction Detection and Rotational Speed Measurement of General-Purpose DC Motors

The FT-0501 detects the leakage magnetic flux of general-purpose DC motors and extracts a frequency signal proportional to the rotational speed. Due to the two built-in coils, there is a phase shift between the two detected signals, and the rotation direction is determined based on this phase relationship. This is a very useful function for quality control of small DC motors, where it is difficult to determine the direction visually. Of course, it is also possible to measure the rotation speed.
