■High sensitivity (approximately twice that of conventional products)

By forming unique slits in the pyroelectric elements, we have improved the thermal insulation of the four pyroelectric elements, and achieved high sensitivity by reliably capturing infrared changes in each pyroelectric element.

■Labor-saving design and excellent radiation noise resistance

The amplifier and comparator are configured in an ASIC with a sensitivity design that contributes to labor savings in customer product design. The magnetic shielding effect created by the built-in TO-5 metal CAN blocks electromagnetic waves generated from Wi-Fi routers and mobile phones. Achieved excellent radiation noise resistance.

■Small and smart lens design

A special pyroelectric element design that is smaller than conventional lenses reduces the optical focal length, making the lens more compact.

■Excellent S/N ratio (approximately 4 times that of conventional products)

A unique capacitor feedback circuit that does not use a conventional FET is used to convert the minute output signal of the sensor element into current/voltage (I/V circuit). Reduces false detections due to temperature fluctuations.

■Pyroelectric element material that does not contain lead

Conventional products often use ceramic materials containing lead for the pyroelectric element, but Panasonic has adopted lithium tantalate (LiTaO3), which does not contain lead, as the pyroelectric element material.

■Low current consumption design〈EKMB (WL) series only〉

Unique circuit design technology achieves low current consumption. Contributes to longer battery life in battery-powered applications.

■Application examples

It has a wide variety of uses, including IoT-related devices and systems such as room occupancy detection, monitoring, home appliance control, and intrusion detection, as well as control of high ceiling lighting and street lights.
