Panasonic has a wide lineup of film capacitors for electronic devices, including radial lead type for medium voltage/high voltage/high frequency, power supply noise prevention (products certified to overseas standards), and surface mount type for low voltage/medium voltage. In addition, we are working on miniaturization, higher safety, and higher performance using advanced technology. Radial lead type/Features

■Radial lead type film capacitors (ECWFA, ECWFD, ECWFE) that achieve miniaturization and high safety

Radial-lead film capacitors for high voltage and high frequency applications and for overseas standard products use Panasonic's proprietary vapor deposition pattern technology to divide the vapor deposited film into cells and provide each cell with a fuse. In the event of local breakdown due to overcurrent, etc., only the fuse section of one cell will melt, and the capacitor as a whole will continue to function. Additionally, because it uses a thin film, it is both highly safe and compact.

When dielectric breakdown occurs, the short circuit current blows the fuse section of that cell section. The cell in the destroyed area becomes open and the capacitor maintains its function.

■Improved electrode structure prevents chips from standing up during reflow

Small and light components tend to have chips that stand up during reflow mounting, but ECHU (X) and ECWU (X) have a structure with a large external electrode surface area to make it difficult for chips to stand up. The chip failure rate has been significantly improved.

■ THB 500h guarantee despite no exterior packaging

Small and light components are prone to chips during reflow mounting, but by adopting a new vapor deposition technology, we have significantly improved the adhesion of the internal electrodes (aluminum vapor deposited film) to the film, making the internal electrodes less prone to oxidation and deterioration. Achieved THB guarantee (85℃, 85%RH, WV, 500h) without exterior packaging.
