About This Product

DYMAX is an American company specializing in UV-curable adhesives with a history of approximately 40 years. We are a pioneer in photocuring technology, hold a 1/3 share of the global medical device market, and have a wide range of achievements in cutting-edge fields such as electronic devices and automobiles. With offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, we provide detailed services. UV adhesive is an adhesive that hardens by irradiating it with ultraviolet light, and its mechanism and properties are completely different from general solvent-based thermosetting adhesives. Mechanism of UV adhesive

■Unresponsive state

Adhesives contain monomers (or oligomers) and photocuring initiators. There are various types and formulations depending on the characteristics required for the adhesive.

■Photocuring initiator generates free radicals

Upon exposure to UV (ultraviolet) light, the photocuring initiator generates free radicals (highly reactive molecules).

■Polymer propagation

Curing begins when free radicals propagate to monomers (or oligomers) and cause them to polymerize.

■Polymer termination

By finishing polymerization at the appropriate timing, you can obtain a cured product with the desired physical properties. Typical thermosetting adhesives apply heat to polymers in a solvent, which crosslinks to form a cured product and dries the solvent, but the curing mechanism is completely different from that.

■In the gasket field

DYMAX gaskets are used in applications such as automotive, mobile equipment, lighting, electrical equipment, HVAC, energy, and industrial hardware. It functions as a barrier to absorb and prevent the intrusion of air, dust, noise, etc., making it ideal for sound deadening, vibration proofing, moisture proofing, chemical proofing, air sealing, etc.
