About This Product

DYMAX is an American company specializing in UV-curable adhesives with a history of approximately 40 years. We are a pioneer in photocuring technology, have a 1/3 share of the global medical device market, and have a wide range of achievements in cutting-edge fields such as electronic devices and automobiles. With offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, we provide detailed services. UV adhesive is an adhesive that hardens by irradiating it with ultraviolet light, and its mechanism and properties are completely different from general solvent-based thermosetting adhesives. Mechanism of UV adhesive

■Unresponsive state

Adhesives contain monomers (or oligomers) and photocuring initiators. There are various types and formulations depending on the characteristics required for the adhesive.

■Photocuring initiator generates free radicals

Upon exposure to UV (ultraviolet) light, the photocuring initiator generates free radicals (highly reactive molecules).

■Polymer propagation

Curing begins when free radicals propagate to monomers (or oligomers) and cause them to polymerize.

■Polymer termination

By finishing polymerization at the appropriate timing, you can obtain a cured product with the desired physical properties. Typical thermosetting adhesives apply heat to polymers in a solvent, which crosslinks to form a cured product and dries the solvent, but the curing mechanism is completely different from that.

■In the medical field

We boast an adhesive share of approximately 1/3 of the global medical device market, and DYMAX products are used in a variety of medical applications. In addition, DYMAX products have obtained ISO certification, and we can also submit tested reports. Dymax MD🄬Medical adhesives and coatings enable rapid assembly of medical devices and components.

■Acquired ISO

・ISO 10993-4: Blood interaction test (hemolytic reaction) ・ISO 10993-5: In vitro cytotoxicity test (cytotoxicity) ・ISO 10993-6: Post-transplant local effect test (muscle transplant) ・ISO 10993-10: Inflammation and delayed hypersensitivity test (intradermal injection) ・ISO 10993-11: Systemic toxicity test (systemic injection) Encompass combines color change upon curing with fluorescent material

■Examples of commonly used applications
