About This Product

■Summary

The HR1211 is a multimode PFC and current mode LLC combo controller that is configurable via a UART interface. Power-saving technology enables optimized efficiency throughout the operating range. The PFC controller employs a patented digital average current control scheme to achieve hybrid CCM/DCM operation. At heavy loads, the CCM reduces the MOSFET peak current, allowing the controller to be used over a wider load range. At light loads, the DCM reduces the switching frequency to improve efficiency. Burst mode has configurable digital soft switching to improve both efficiency and audible noise at light loads. Current mode control is implemented in the LLC stage to achieve good stability and fast response. Three operating modes are implemented based on different load conditions: steady state, skip, and burst. This allows efficiency to be optimized independently for different load conditions. At light loads, a digital frequency-controlled burst mode is applied to reduce both switching power losses and audible noise. Adaptive dead time adjustment (ADTA) and capacitive mode protection (CMP) are also applied to ensure zero voltage switching (ZVS) without capacitive mode operation. The HR1211 has a built-in high voltage current source for startup, eliminating the need for traditional startup resistors or external circuitry. When the AC input is in dropout, the high voltage (HV) current source can be implemented as an X-capacitor discharger and no capacitor resistor is required. Protection includes thermal shutdown (TSD), PFC open loop protection (OLP), overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent limiting (OCL) and LLC overcurrent protection (OCP), SO pin protection, and overpower protection (OPP). HR1211 is offered in SOIC-20 and TSSOP-20 packages.
