About This Product

■Summary

HR1203 is a high-performance controller that integrates an advanced digital PFC controller and a half-bridge LLC resonant controller. The HR1203 complies with the Energy Use Products Directive (EuP) Lot 6 and Code of Practice Version 5 Tier 2 specifications due to its low input power requirements at no load or very light loads. The HR1203's PFC employs a patented average current control scheme that can operate in both continuous conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) depending on the instantaneous conditions of the input voltage and output load. This IC exhibits excellent efficiency and high power factor (PF) at light loads. PFC performance can be optimized by programming multiple parameters through the I2C GUI. Programming can be done at the factory or by the customer with reference to a detailed user guide. Half-bridge LLC resonant converters achieve high efficiency with zero voltage switching (ZVS). HR1203 implements an adaptive dead time adjustment (ADTA) feature that guarantees ZVS under various load conditions. Additionally, the HR1203 can prevent the LLC converter from operating off-resonance, making the converter more robust and easier to design. The HR1203 internally integrates a high voltage (HV) current source for startup. When the AC input is removed, the HV current source also acts as a discharger for the X capacitor. Such features help reduce associated devices and reduce no-load power consumption. To improve noise immunity, HR1203 implements multiple programmable digital filters on important signals. Extensive protection features include thermal shutdown, open-loop protection (OLP), overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), and power outage/power recovery protection.
