About This Product

■Summary

The HR1002A is an enhanced LLC controller that provides robust adaptive dead time adjustment (ADTA) and resonance displacement protection (CMP) in addition to improved functional surge performance. ADTA automatically inserts dead time between two complementary gate outputs. This is ensured by keeping the output off while sensing the dV/dt current of the half-bridge switching node. ADTA simplifies design, reduces EMI, and increases efficiency. The HR1002A incorporates off-resonance protection to prevent potentially destructive off-resonance switching if the output is shorted or severely overloaded. This feature protects the MOSFET during abnormal conditions and provides a robust converter. The HR1002A has a configurable oscillator that sets both maximum and minimum switching frequencies. To prevent excessive inrush current, it starts at the maximum programmed switching frequency and decays until the control loop takes over. The HR1002A enters controlled burst mode under light negative conditions to minimize power consumption and enhance output regulation. Extensive protection features include two-level overcurrent protection (OCP) with externally latched shutdown, automatic recovery, power recovery and power outage, resonance removal protection (CMP), and overtemperature protection (OTP). The HR1002A requires minimal external components and is available in a SOIC16-15 package.
