About This Product

■Summary

The MPQ6517B is a single-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver that integrates power MOSFETs and Hall effect sensors. The device drives single-phase BLDC motors and fans with output current (IOUT) limited up to 2A. A 3.3V to 16V input voltage (VIN) range and input line reverse voltage protection (RVP) eliminate the need for external diodes on the power line. The MPQ6517B controls rotation speed through a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal on the PWM pin. MPQ6517B has rotation speed detection function and rotor lock fault indication on FG/RD pin and has an open drain output. The output speed vs. input duty cycle curve can be flexibly set. To reduce fan driver audible noise and power dissipation, the MPQ6517B features soft-on/off phase commutation, automatic phase locking for motor winding back emf (BEMF) and current. Extensive protection features include input overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage lockout (UVLO), rotor deadlock protection, thermal shutdown, and input RVP. The MPQ6517B minimizes the number of external components required to reduce solution cost and is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified. MPQ6517B is available in TSOT23-6-SL and TSOT23-6 packages.
