About This Product

■Summary

The MP6612 is an H-bridge motor driver used to drive reversible motors, which can drive DC motors, stepper motor windings, or other loads. The H-bridge consists of four N-channel power MOSFETs and an internal charge pump that generates the necessary gate driver voltages. For MP6612, output control is through the IN1 and IN2 pins. For MP6612D, output control is through the DIR and ENBL pins. Otherwise both parts are identical. The MP6612 operates from a motor supply voltage of 4V to 40V and can deliver up to 5A of output current (IOUT) according to logic control. Disabling the device allows for very low standby quiescent current (quiescent current). The internal current sensing circuit outputs a voltage proportional to the load current (ILOAD). Additionally, this MP6612 provides cycle-by-cycle current regulation and limiting. These functions do not require the use of low resistance shunt resistors. Fault indication and internal shutdown are provided for overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and overtemperature protection (OTP). The MP6612 requires a minimal number of standard off-the-shelf external components and is provided in a TSSOP-20EP package.
