About This Product

■Summary

The MP6540 and MP6540A are three-phase brushless DC motor drivers that integrate three half-bridges consisting of six N-channel power MOSFETs, a predriver, a gate drive supply, and a current sense amplifier. The MP6540 has an enable input and a PWM input for each half-bridge. MP6540A has separate high-side and low-side inputs. Otherwise both parts are the same. When MP6540 is mentioned in this document, it also applies to MP6540A unless otherwise stated. The MP6540 can draw up to 10A peak current for 1 second and 3A peak current continuously (depending on thermal and PC board conditions). The MP6540 uses an internal charge pump to generate the gate drive supply voltage for the high-side MOSFET and uses a trickle charge circuit to maintain sufficient gate drive voltage to operate at 100% duty cycle. Internal safety features include thermal shutdown, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and overcurrent protection (OCP). The MP6540 is available in a QFN-26 (5.0mm x 5.0mm) package.
