About This Product

■Summary

The MP6602 is a stepper motor driver with integrated indexer/translator and internal current regulation. With internal current sensing, the MP6602 requires no external current sensing resistor. The MP6602 operates over an input voltage (VIN) range of 4.5V to 35V. It can deliver up to 4A motor current per phase depending on ambient temperature and PCB layout. The MP6602 can operate bipolar or unipolar stepper motors in full, half, quarter, 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32 step modes. Internal safety and diagnostic features include rotor stall detection, open load detection, overcurrent protection (OCP), input overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), thermal warning, and thermal shutdown. Auto-hold current mode allows the winding current to be automatically reduced to save power when maximum current is not required, such as when the motor is stopped or under light load conditions. You can measure the back electromotive force (BEMF) of the motor. BEMF can be read via the serial interface for advanced diagnostic and control functions. Serial interface sets control modes such as step mode, direction, and output current. The serial interface can also read diagnostic registers. STEP and DIR input pins allow motor movement to be adjusted without serial bus transactions. MP6602 is a highly integrated solution for stepper motor drives. Comes in a QFN-25 (4mm x 5mm) package.
