■Applications

Matting of non-ferrous metals such as copper plated surfaces, brass and bronze, and stainless steel. Buffs better than silicon carbide type.

■Features

It is called a greaseless compound or matte abrasive, and is an abrasive (hereinafter referred to as satiner) made by dispersing an abrasive in a water-soluble adhesive such as glue and kneading it together. It is applied to the buff surface in the same way as a buffing agent to create a matte finish (satin finish). This abrasive has poor adhesion to the buff, so the satiner is pressed against the rotating buff, and after the abrasive begins to soften, it is applied by moving it over the buff surface. After application, the buff is idle for about 30 to 60 seconds to solidify and stabilize the abrasive before polishing. The type of buff used is generally loose cotton buff C or calico loose buff. Due to its poor weather resistance, store it in the refrigerator or in a cool place. If left unopened during storage, it will dry and harden and will no longer stick to the buff, so store it in a sealed plastic bag.
