About This Product

■Product overview

Ansys Rocky is the first commercial powder analysis software based on the Discrete Element Method (DEM) that models spherical particles as "polyhedra" and predicts their behavior. Powders (tablets, ores, soil, food, etc.) exhibit complex behavior depending on their shape, which can lead to problems such as uneven mixing during stirring, and powder clogging and segregation that occur during transportation and filling processes. The reality is that it is easy to do and difficult to avoid. Predicting particle behavior through simulation is effective for ``changing manufacturing conditions'' and ``improving manufacturing equipment,'' which are cited as solutions to these problems. In particular, the need for powder simulation is increasing, as prototype production and testing tends to be limited for powder manufacturing equipment that is expensive and difficult to replace. Ansys Rocky uses non-spherical particle shapes to faithfully reproduce complex phenomena, making it possible to more accurately analyze the complex behavior of powders and solids. It can be used in a wide variety of fields, including pharmaceuticals, food, chemistry, mining, and machinery, and can significantly reduce testing costs and verification man-hours, contributing to improved productivity in powder processing processes.
