About This Product

Eliminates the pungent chlorine odor. This is an ultraviolet water treatment device (UV device) manufactured by ATG UV Technology in the UK that was used in the 2012 London Olympic pool. We have a track record of delivering more than 5,000 units around the world, including the UK and the US. Miura Chemical Equipment sells, installs, and maintains products in Japan.

■What is ultraviolet water treatment?

・It has been well known for a long time that the ultraviolet (UV) rays contained in sunlight have a strong bactericidal effect. ・A feature of ultraviolet sterilization is that it can destroy the DNA of cells without using chemicals.

■Advantages of introducing ultraviolet water treatment equipment

・Removes chlorine odor: Reduces chlorine odor and combined chlorine that causes sore eyes, skin, and throats for swimmers. ・Improved transparency: Removing organic matter from pool water improves transparency. - Prevention of infectious diseases: Can sterilize Cryptosporidium and Legionella, which cannot be killed by chlorine. - Non-hazardous and safe: Since no chemicals are used, no harmful by-products are generated. ・Space-saving: Light and compact, installation work is easy.

■Comparison of data before and after introduction

Before installing the UV water treatment system, the average combined chlorine concentration in the pool water was 1.1 ppm. After the introduction, the average combined chlorine concentration decreased to 0.2ppm. (82% reduction in combined chlorine) *Combined chlorine is a chlorine byproduct from ammonia in sweat and other substances, and can cause pool odor and sore eyes, skin, and throat.
